LEARN FILMMAKING
Inception to Projection Filmmaking Program
Inception to Projection is a hands-on filmmaking program that trains participants to write, direct, produce, and edit their own original short film. At the conclusion of the program, the students publicly screen their film at the highly anticipated film festival Arkansas Shorts - A Weekend of Short Film hosted by Low Key Arts.
I2P has a proven track record of creating a path for aspiring filmmakers to make a professional short film while preparing them for a career in the film industry. As the only program of its kind in the state, emerging filmmakers are paired with professional mentors as they create an original short film. Many students have used I2P to create portfolios for college applications. We have also seen alumni of the program go on to attend prestigious graduate film programs while others build their resumes by working on professional sets.
Since the program relies on a professional mentorship model, students not only gain industry level training, they also build professional contacts that open up a path to employment. Industry mentors include the following: Reinaldo Marcus Green (director of the Oscar nominated film KING RICHARD starring Oscar Winner Will Smith), Zazie Beetz (actress from ATLANTA, JOKER, NINE DAYS), Lisa Rubin (show runner and creator of Netflix show GYPSY starring Naomi Watts), Graham Gordy (show runner of QUARRY & TRUE DETECTIVE season 3), J.P. Wakayama (cinematographer of LOVE, VICTOR, GOSSIP GIRL (2021) and DICK JOHNSON IS DEAD).
